I'm curious. If you had to choose your favorite post workout food what is it? Not a supplement. Real food here.
Right now I like a blackberry jam with PB and honey with crushed walnuts on Wheat. 300 ca. 10 gr protein. I also like a 25 gr. protein smoothie. If I had to choose a supplement it would be Hammer Recoverite. After a long sat. run over 15 miles I will add a big glass of choco milk.
Fried sliced hot link, two (sometimes three- I heart cholesterol) fried eggs over easy, two slices of toasted rosemary rustic bread and 28 oz of skim milk.
After a swim meet,
Beer
chipotle!
I hate/love Chipotle. I can never stop eating their burrito when i'm full, soo good. When i'm done, I want to die and hate them for breaking my will.
Lately I've been fixing a big glass (30oz) of ice cream and milk. Sometimes I add chocolate syrup. When I was a kid I used to fix myself a cheap 14" frozen pizza, eat it while watching cartoons, go sleep for an hr. and then eat dinner. Fortunately for me I'm very tolerant of the lactose. Nanner's are good too.
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
at home, yoghurt, a banana, and really good granola. Large latte, for the ride home.
out for breakfast - 2 pieces french toast, butter maple syrup, and scrambled eggs or eggs scrambled with cheese, salsa, onions - avocado and sour cream added, with a side of mixed fruit and tortillas. Large Latte. Yummm....
I usually have to get to work so I drink a quick OJ with protein powder mixed in after working out. I usually don't get hungry until a couple of hours later, and then I'm starving.
After OWS events, though, there must be a beer at the finish line. It is required.
Can't beat greasy fried chicken and hush puppies. Only problem is that you can't get the latter in Colorado even though some restaurants I've eaten in claim to make them.
In the evening if I don't have time for a full meal, sometimes I'll grab a can of Bush's vegetarian baked beans, which have about the same carb to protein ratio as Endurox. And they have the added benefit of providing extra gas turbo power for the next day's swim ;-)
Another evening favorite is a huge spinach salad with nuts, seeds, every possible kind of veggies, cheeses, and a can of sardines on top.
When I swim in the morning I eat huge breakfasts that include every breakfast menu item available. My kids call it the "breakfast feast".
In the morning:
Bananna milkshake (with real banannas), 2 fried egg bagels with cheese, a cereal bowl of the ultimate mix(weetabix, frosted flakes, topped with sugar puffs and cheerios). Peanut butter sandwich on white :) Glass of OJ. Bottle of water.
