Butterfly, beautiful to watch, difficult to train.
We SDK off every wall.
We're most likely to smack hands with each other and those beside us.
Fly's fun to sprint but no fun when the piano comes down

Way to go, TG! I did a 1000 fly back in the spring as I was training for Nats, but haven't done much fly at all since then. I'm picking it back up in January and will definitely give this a shot in the spring!
Thanks habu987! I haven't done 1000 fly yet. I'll get on that :)
Hey TG...I'm going to be doing a couple solo practices at the Y this week, since my club team kids are all heading over to the Wash. State Sr. Champs meet this weekend. Any suggestions???...not that I'll follow instructions very well.

How about joining me for an end-of-the-year 1000 fly to send off 2012; a year that flew by! :chug: Who's in? Swim it before the end of the year and post your YouTube video ( :snore: ) on this thread, if available. This is NOT a race challenge, mainly, because I know I will lose big-time. Just swim it, post here, send it to Butternuts so they can update your nutty profile (or add you as a new NUT), and pour yourself a :wine: to celebrate! (Or, if you prefer, :bed:...)
That Guy? James?? Swimosaur??? Yosemite???? Bobinator????? rxleakem?????? habu987??????? Hey Woofus! Don't think for a minute I would let you slip by on this one. ;)
As for making this a fly-athlon, I never did hear back from Doug Church about doing a fundraiser for Swimming Saves Lives Foundation. But, as an option, each of us could make a donation, if we so choose...
Cheers!

James is volunteering to not participate this year. :)

Way back in August you said that you were going to swim the BUTTERFLY GULLEY OF DISPLEASURE but start from the 200.

My backlog consists of a 6000 IM, 30x100 backstroke on 1:20, Elaine's 1000 fly challenge, and a 1650 fly.
Next time it snows in the Western Hemisphere, I'll do it - on video! :D
As my good deed for the day, I found the missing characters from your post and returned them to you free of charge.

:bump: I'll give it a shot, even though I haven't swam more than 200 fly continuous. I've always wanted to be a butternut. :agree:
Two birds, one stone: 6600 IM = 1650 each. Good luck!
That's an interesting idea. I had picked 6000 because I was going to swim it for the 6000 Postal Challenge, but that's over now. 6600... hmmm...
Maybe you guys should try this during this fine winter season:

Butterfly in the snow anyone :afraid:? You don't even need a sled! Just a big dose of insanity!
