Right Side Dominates

I think I have a problem. My right side of upper body feels more fatigued after workout than left side. It's allmost every muscle. I can fell it in especially *** and back muscles. Have you had same problem? Any tips? Thanks.

I can breathe on both sides but I breathe mostly on the left side. I am against bilateral breathing. I do a little bilateral breathing just to make sure I am balanced but that is very limited. I breathe on the left it is my weak side. I have much more power from the right so I use the right side underwater when I breathe. My old coach had everyone who was right handed breathing on the left. I breathe predominately on my right side, but try to do bilateral breathing as much as I can, depends on the distance and speed, but why are you against bilateral breathing? On the issue of breathing I feel faster when I breathe every stroke as opposed to not breathing as in the case of doing 25s. I feel like my pull is stronger, is this me just not used to swimming without taking a breathe or could it be that I swim faster this way?

My old coach had everyone who was right handed breathing on the left. What was his reasoning behind this? I am right handed and breathe to the right. I also drift to my right, which, now that I think about it, may have been his reasoning!

He just thought the strong arm works better underwater and that you have better control. He always insisted bilateral breathing was to be done for 50 yards during warm up. Our warm up was 450 yards of varied strokes and kicking front and back without a kick board. He had us kick against the wall for 10 minutes front and back also. We pulled every day with bands on our ankles about 200 yards. Lots of kick a length swim a length. You must remember we only swam 3 strokes until the 50s. We did lots of sprints under water and he did not care if we jumped of the bottom and do a porpoise type thing. After workout we played corner tag for an hour. Even our senior swimmers did this.

Which side do you breathe on?? Are you left handed or right handed?? My right side is my strong side, I breathe on the left I am right handed in everthing I do except I write with my left hand.

I breathe on both sides. Depending on distance I usually split my breathing. I'm right handed and like you said do allmost everything with right hand.

I was just thinking if it's common "problem" (or problem at all) that other side dominates.
