I'm looking for a training book that is up to date on the latest techniques and training methods. Any suggestions?
My personal favorite is Swimming Fastest, by Ernest Maglischo. Be warned...it's a big-a$$ed book and has a ton of info you might not ever need.
I also like Championship Swimming by Bill Sweetenham, a former AUS Olympic coach.
Go to Amazon.com and you can probably look at the table of contents and even exerpts to see if they are what you are looking for.

I second Maglischo's book. It is a bit overwhelming so you might just pick a section that interests you and read that for awhile. The strength of this book is the science used to justify the recommendations. It is not just an "I did it this way" book like so many sports training books are.
Nathan, I was thinking about getting that book. Is it really worth it?
Yes, I'm co-author, so my opinion is invalid. But I do appreciate you giving it a look :weightlifter:

Since he is a co-author, I'm sure he'll tell you it's worth it.
I was going to say something else regarding this but I'll restrain myself.
