I was fine at swimming; got home it started to ache now it hurts to bend it or have any lateral motion. Ice and advil huh?
I think it's probably just a bit strained...let's hope...

My left knee has meniscal issues. Not all the time, but when it does I give it support with this knee brace. It's comfortable and supportive, and if you put enough talc under it, not too bad in the summer.

As long as I'm flutter kicking, I'm usually ok. But when non-swimming activity makes it hurt, I swim with the snuggest open-patella neoprine one that Nexcare makes (they don't last too long).
Hope some ice and stretching are all it takes.

I have one of those. I used to play Football (soccer) and my left peg got a bit grumpy.
That's what is odd. I would anticipate that it would be my left knee that gave me an issue.
I still think the long, overstretched, uphill stride I took had a part to play in this minor injury.
Also walking on icy floor puts stress on your knees too..there's a few factors here.
It's not really too bad now I only feel it a little bit at the extreme end of motion.

Didn't you mention you just tiled a floor? If you were on your knees, even with knee pads, that extra stress could make you more prone to injury as well.

I laid 12 tiles I take my time and go slowly through the room. My herniated discs remind me of how intolerable tiling is well before knee fatigue. It could have had a part to play but...I think I tweaked it on the hill and then stressed it in the pool. It only hurt once I got home and such, there was no sharp or sudden pain--odd really :dunno:
Feel free to swing by and hand feed grapes though Barb. ;)

Peeled or unpeeled, Rich?
And can you catch them in your mouth as your wife and I hurl them at you from across the room? :thhbbb:

Hey Rich, glad to hear the knee is feeling better. . . I have a bathroom in need of tiles if you're interested in a side job. :p

You laugh...if not for my bad back...I'd go into tiling.

Sorry to hear this SwimStud and Allen is right, ice is magical because it reduces swelling which is the primary cause of pain after overuse. Ice is not easy to come by, so I use a bag of frozen peas!!
I mentioned recently that I was training smarter now, not everyday, and it has done my shoulders a world of good. I may have spoken a little too soon, I woke up today and everything hurts: my ankles especially, my right hip, left knee, shoulders don't hurt but are sore, and I am so fatigued. I was supposed to do a straight 4 miler today, non stop, but I am rethinking this now. I may not swim, or just swim a teensy bit.
So, you have a temporarily crippled friend here in Roatan who says: I feel your pain!! And I am laying on the couch with peas on one shoulder, corn on the other, brussel sprouts on my left knee, and my ankles elevated; I look like a vegie salad in the making.
