My growing pet peeve is people who loiter at the edge of the pool at end of my lane waiting for me to finish my workout. Geez, I'm in the second lane, I'm not really fast but not that slow, and I circle swim all the time...I'm sure we can work something out. Stop acting like I'm cluttering up your lane!
(Thought some of you should hear what it's like for the slowpoke in the group!)
My main thing is, when swimming with a team, when someone behind you touches your feet, and refuse to go ahead of you when you stop...
Or when someone is leading and they sit out on really long sets and then ask "How many have we done?"

When people just spit in the pool... I know chlorine kills most anything, but it is REALLY gross to be swimming and see this mystery substance floating just below you... *shudders*

The Mommie who visits the pool with her two angels (read: brats) and lets them chase each other between lanes, especially the one I am in. :cry: Then, she gets P.O.'d when the guard says something to her. Who says life's fair? A belated Happy New Year to my friends out there!

Got the same problem here. My aquatics director has told lifeguards to tell people to stay out of the lap lanes. She then told us, once they have been warned, if they keep doing it, run them over and keep going...which we are more than happy to do.

BUT, did go 10:44.06 in the 1000 (best time by 16.8 seconds!?) and won event for men and women. Matched best masters time in the 100 fly 1:00.3 (this hurt) and did best time ever in the 50 Free (DID wear the blue monster suit) at 25.04 felt good. Man, felt like I was CHEATING it was so float-y.
The timer got me just under 25 at 24.97. But oh well.
Real Fast......guess the neck is OK.
