Breaststroke Kick

I am looking for a good workout to get my kick better in breaststroke. I currently can sprint a 50 SCY kick with a board in :43 seconds and would like to get that down much lower, hopefully to about :35 seconds. Does anyone have a good kick workout/workouts?

Jordan, power is good and all... but for my breastroke kick I'd much rather have 5% increased knee flexibility over 5% increase in leg power output. I'd suggest you start doing long split stretches 3/4 times a week... increasing the reach of your groin will help a little, and your knees will help alot... Like, way more than you are thinking it will.

Swimmers smooth enough to pull off those 1 leg-kick drills... well, what can I say? Just powerful, in control - and very cool. (at least it got me all excited to swim the 100 *** in San Diego this Sunday!) Happy Valentine's Day :)
  • I do no kicking only workouts in BR as it is just too hard on my knees.My favorite "BR kick" sets are eggbeater sprints with snorkel,8x25 on 1-1:15.This is great for foot speed and lactic acid tolerance and it doesn't bother my knees.
