When I travelled to Ontario I visited my brother Thurlow who wrote a program based on the German science of training. With this program you ad the resting heart rate, your age, and the time you want to swim for 25, 50, 75, 100, 400, 500, etc. etc. yards or meters any stroke, bike ride, or run and it gives you your work out. It tells how fast you should train and how to do - V02max or anerobic training.
He sold these programs for $295 to several coaches.
I am starting to follow the prescribed work outs and will let you know what I find out.
I got 190. I'm not sure what that means????? Say I want to 1650 in 21minutes and 35 sec. What does this number mean. On Tuesday I'm going to my Pulmonogist to have a test where they pump my lungs full of gas and watch it expchange and see how much of the oxygen is taken up and if there is anything wrong with the small airways. I guess there is now a connection between people who have both severe asthma and severe colitis. We are some type of genetic freaks. I've always thought that I was. Now maybe I can confirm it!!!!!

190 heart rate is not good for your age. 21.53 correlates to a 21.53 1500m not a bad time. If you send your age and resting heart rate the program will give the answers to how fast to do your 100s and please tell me whether the 1650 swim is a test time at max speed.
You are taking 1313 seconds and that also is an unlucky number if you do not like the number 13.
Your average pace is 1.20 per 100yards.
If you are going to do
15 x 100 - swim 100y in 1.17 start your repeats on 1.40.
22 x 100 - swim 100y in 1.20 repeat on 1.45.
30 x 100 - swim 100y in 1.23 repeat on 1.50.
Send me geochuck@hotmail.com your resting heart rate, your age and I will give you the breakdowns for your heart rates for each level.
George,
You sound like my old Norwegian, great aunts sitting around the kitchen. They were with out question the most superstitiuos peole on earth. Everything they did was dependeant on certain things happening.

Now I can't remeber how I got 190. Ijust got 132.
Resting Heart rate = 62
Age = 48
time = 22
Total equals 132.
Sometimes my resting heart rate sky rockets because I have to take asthma meds.
Craig I have now started to train Fartleks, fatrtlicks and speed play. I know you know more about these than I do.
I put fartlick in a google search it came up more porno sites than training sites. Then put in a google search = Fartlick training and found what I wanted.
