I've started tapering in the last few days for a meet in a couple of weeks and am finding that my appetite has increased. Is this typical? I've wondered if perhaps my appetite was suppressed when I was training hard. Perhaps I have more time to realize how hungry I am?
I am curious to hear if others have experienced an increased appetite on a taper.

If you are increasing you calorie output, then you will need a high calorie intake. Definitely possible.
No, alas, I always get the taper munchies. Seems ludicrous when you're barely even moving.
Agreed. I think part of it is more time on my hands and nerves. I try to stay away from junky stuff.
You gotta wonder about Phelps and his munchies, pre or post taper.
Ha! You're right. I do wonder if November was the first time he picked up the bong.
I've got to watch it or else I'll be sinking in the pool at Auburn and Fort will make me look even worse than I had already anticipated.

hmm everyone responds a bit differently to a taper... i'm usually on the boat that the first fwe days of a taper i feel a bit slugish and dont eat as much.
