Sorry if this is disrupting the Colonies Zone thread.... FlyQueen, I can't find anything about a SCM meet in the Chicago on USMS Calendar or Illinois Masters webpage. If you have a link, would you kindly post? Thanks!

What about butterfly/breaststrokers? 200 fly immediately followed by 100 br; then, the next day, 100 fly immediately followed by 50 br with the 200 br only a few events before. I'm definitely going, but I guess I'll only be doing breaststroke. I don't think I could do a 200 fly and then a 100 *** back to back and do my best.
  • I'm not sure I could go a 4:08. Mostly I just wanted to swim the event. (And I bet Erik Hochstein will crush 4:08 anyway, if he swims it.) Yes, he will crush it if he swims it. I'm not sure if I can train enough to get that fast, but am trying to do so. The only solace of breaking it on that Friday night might be that it'll stand a day or two before someone else breaks it at Long Beach. It'll be great to see folks from Richmond days ... I saw Will back at Master's in Hawaii and see Jeff Utsch when we happen to show up at the same meet out west (which is very rare).
  • That is a bizarre event order. It isn't even good to be a one stroke swimmer if that stroke is BR.200 BR ,rest an event and then 50 BR:frustrated:I'm glad I'll be at SPMA in Long Beach. That should be a great meet again(unless it gets too cold.)
  • Wow, I have NO idea how to read this. Guess I'll give Hulk lessons at the next meet. I can actually read it well but then again, I've been doing all OMS entry forms for the last 4 or so years.
  • Guess I'll give Hulk lessons at the next meet. I can actually read it well but then again, I've been doing all OMS entry forms for the last 4 or so years. What do entry forms have to do with deciphering the order of events sanscrit that shows what order of events are used when. Quad #1, Z-SCY, LMSC, Plan CC.......huh?
  • In order for me to do the entry forms, I have to follow the order listed based on what column I am on for that meet. The column changes each meet so that the order always changes. When I do the standard OMS entry forms, I have another chart I have to use. But if the meet is a Zone meet, I have to use the form I posted earlier. By one person in the Oregon LMSC doing the entry forms, we don't get duplicate order of events across meets and the entry forms are uniform. Since coming here, I have noticed since each meet director has his or her own order of events and does their own entry forms, the order of events tend to be less inviting to majority of the swimmers and the entry forms are not all the same.
  • 200 fly, 200 back and 200 IM the same day ... oh boy ... :frustrated:
  • Yes, he will crush it if he swims it. Chris, FYI, I went to a one day SCM meet in Mission Viejo today, thinking it'd be a good "in training" meet to see where I am two months out from trying to swim fast. It was a bi-polar experience. I was pretty happy as I was near times I typically do in November. I was sad (but VERY impressed) when Eric Hochstein smoked a 4:38 in the 400 IM ... AFTER having gone a 16:58 in the mile about 40 minutes earlier. The bar is certainly raised.
  • Even I'm not crazy enough to do the 800 at night followed by an early a.m. 1500. A minimum of 24 hours recovery is required! Actually the order of events makes it easier this year (for me). No need to make the Firday night distance commute and spend money on a hotel room. I can go up on Saturday, swim the long and a few shorts and go the heck home! :bliss: Anyone want to skip the relays and head to Fudruckers for burgers & shakes? You know I love me some Fudruckers :drink:
