Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot: If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.
  • Jail time? She did not commit a crime. Um, if she did take Clenbuterol, then yes, she did commit a crime as that is not available in the US by prescription.
  • We are living in Fantasie Land if we believe everything is in fact true (maybe I should say if anything is true). But George you say you require proof positive so does that mean you live in Fantasy Land? Can you name a single athlete who tested positive who did not ingest the substance? If you need to cite OJ again, I think I'll puke.
  • Geek Promise, promise, promise. OJ, OJ, OJ, Clemens your great truth teller said he was injected. Therefore not ingested. Clemens has never admitted this, George. He said his wife was injected.
  • I do not use anything but my presciption drugs that control my blood sugar and my blood pressure. George, the tests of your blood sugar level are completely unreliable, no need to worry.

I am curious about how people feel about the Rick DeMont case, which seems to be an example of an athlete with a banned substance in his system that I would not want to condemn in the terms some here have expressed. Personally it seems to me that the system failed him despite any onus on him to control what went into his body. Given the other thread on asthma meds it is also interesting that his asthma meds contained ephedrine which might partially explain the perception that some asthma meds have/had potentially performance enhancing effects.

Geek:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: Your opinions to me are :rofl::rofl::rofl: You are telling me that the tests are reliable???? This I question. I do not believe they are. It is still and has always been my opinion why even test. There are going to be cheaters who can by pass tests so why not let anyone who wants to, do their thing. I do not use anything but my presciption drugs that control my blood sugar and my blood pressure.

Please cite evidence to support these tests are reliable. Here are my opinions www.usms.org/.../showthread.php Like What I take for my medical conditions is completely irrelevant. So is your opinion. Geek :dedhorse::dedhorse::dedhorse:
  • Is it possible the Clenbuterol they have used in the Beef, Pork, Chicken and Fish industry could be the source??? www.google.com/search Sure, and she is the only athlete that tested positive who eats meat, poultry, or fish, give me a break.
  • You are trying to find reasons other than the obvious reason.

Finaly a sensible response. You did not call me a liar. George, What leads you to believe that the testing is not reliable. Sure there will always be cheats who get away with it. Otherwise nobody would cheat any more. I am not familiar with the science behind the analyses performed to test for doping, but even so, I place a fair amount of faith in it. The issue with the French Lab and Floyd Landis was that there were several errors in their procedures. That and the fact that his A sample tested clean. Some technician decided to test the B sample because they believed he was cheating. Now, not only did the tester know whose sample they were testing, even if they did produce a positive, it is no longer reproducible. The only reason for having an A and a B sample is so that a DIFFERENT lab can reproduce the positive test by testing the B sample. In addition, the French lab, the very same one that leaked supposed positive B samples from Armstrong to L'Equipe, didn't properly train their technicians, didn't have manuals for the testing equipment and didn't follow international testing protocols. I don't necessarily believe that Landis was innocent, but the lab certainly didn't prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was guilty. I also agree with everyone here that an elite athlete who falls under the USADA anti-doping rules, is ultimately responsible for what goes into their bodies. T.J. Morton
