Hi
I am swimming in my pool now 2 or 3 times on a weekly basis.
I am doing the freestyle.
What is the good drill to develop rolling for breath and momentum and the proper degrees etc.
I cannot afford coaching or TI videos, and don't want to get wrong information from the web.
Thank you for your help.
:)
As I recall, Emmet has a website. H20ustonswims.com or something like that. There are quite a few articles on there about swimming that I found helpful when I was starting. There is a lot of humor in his writing which keeps you reading...sometimes more than once.
Just happen to have it in my favorites: http://www.h2oustonswims.org/
Concentrate on rolling your whole body when you breathe, not just turning your head. Try to keep one eye below the surface of the water as you roll and breathe. You don't want to be turning your head and body so far that you are looking up at the sky.
Have a look at the following site

I also recommend the book by Emmett Hines 'Fitness Swimming'. Reading this book you learn to develop your swim step by step.
good luck!
I had the pleasure of meeting Emett Hines in real life once. I really enjoyed meeting him and swimming with his team one day. Nice to meet you La Naguer and welcome to our forum.
