Okay, so we all like each other. Well, mostly. S-o-o-o, it does stand to reason that each and every one of has an outstanding DVD to recommend for me ( & the rest of the forums gang) to rent for viewing over the holidays:
Two categories:
1.) Seasonal DVD that we must watch
2.) Non-seasonal any genre DVD that will make our holiday viewing.
Thanking you in advance.
Yikes,
Fortress has yet ANOTHER AVATAR:eek:
Donna
Donna,
Where have you been all day? This is her 3rd or 4th one today.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it change again before the day is over.
I submit that 'Christmas Carol' starring Alistair Sim (non-colorized) is the definitive Christmas movie.
Perhaps the most entertaining movie ever was 'The Sting' with Newman and Redford. Some of you young whippersnappers may never have seen it-rent it now.

We agree...as you'll see from my earlier psot ;)
Is it true that there is a thread about Christmas movies and no one has mentioned A Christmas Story?!?!?!?!?! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!!!:shakeshead: Only the single greatest Christmas movie ever! ;)
And Love Actually...that'll give you the warm fuzzies.
As for regular movies...oh man where to start.........Blood Diamond was amazing. Happy Feet is good for a family. Casino Royale was totally awesome!
Older movies::: Find Me Guilty was surprisingly good, Charlie and The Chocolate Facotory is cute. Van Wilder is my all time favorite. Million Dollar Mermaid is a good swimming movie, so was Swimming Upstream.......
So many movies so little time!!! :wiggle:
Edit: Amelie is pretty good too, it's subtitled.
1. The Big Blue. Free diving gone bad.
2. Dersu Uzala. Kurosawa epic set in the Russian outback. No swimming.
3. Capitaine Conan. 1996 Bertrand Tavernier film about a band of French guerilla fighters in WWI. Interesting character study at the end of the war. No swimming.
4. The Red Violin. Fantasy on the round-the-world history of a particular instrument with "peculiar" baroque origins. No swimming.
Somewhat obscure, but interesting films.
DV
Casino Royale was totally awesome!
I'll take the original: Goldfinger
I hate subtitles. So I guess I won't be seeing Penelope Cruz in her new movie Volver, which is rumored to be good.
