Okay, so we all like each other. Well, mostly. S-o-o-o, it does stand to reason that each and every one of has an outstanding DVD to recommend for me ( & the rest of the forums gang) to rent for viewing over the holidays:
Two categories:
1.) Seasonal DVD that we must watch
2.) Non-seasonal any genre DVD that will make our holiday viewing.
Thanking you in advance.

Knelson,
Yikes! I have really dated myself here, but I can see you know all about that hilarious movie. I guess dementia was setting in way back then.
Donna
Seinfeld is always good...going to see him in Vegas in the 26th, next week!!!
Band Of Brothers is good if you are interested in WWII.
Most movies with Al Pacino or Robert DeNiro. Heat is one of my favorites. Scent of a Woman is enjoyable. Scarface is timeless.
Fortress AKA Oh wooden legged one,
I'm not a history buff, but they tried to imply that William Wallace got the princess pregnant it was absolute rubbish. What has this to do with Robert the Bruce?
Did Richard III kill the two princes or not? I think the jury is out on this one...my opinion--probably not.
Remember Heny VIII? What's the slogan for his 6 wives? Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday...Sunday he went to play golf and then watched football. :applaud: (I've not heard this one...this must be something like conjunction junction)
Anyhow does your leg float when you swim, and does your parrot fly away when you dive in? Arrrrrrrrrrrgh....Jim-lad...:thhbbb:
NB: If you want a swimming movie rent "The Swimmer" now that's drama!
I'm scared ... I completely agree with Geek that Dazed and Confused is awesome ... I LOVE that movie, too ...
Ditto to LOTR being good .... Harry Potter movies are great, too ...
Classic movies ... Some Like it Hot, Cool Hand Luke, and One Flew OVer the CuCoo's (?) Nest ...
Cool Hand Luke is a smart pick! If Geek is going to label LOTR watchers "geeks" he will have eliminated his own quirky individuality because we will all be geeks. I think one can simultaneously like Dazed and Confused and LOTR.
Uh, Robert the Bruce did make an appearance in Braveheart as I recall. And it was Bruce, not Wallace, who became King of Scotland and subsequently won Scottish independence at the Battle of Bannockburn.

Yes but it wasn't about him...and it was still heavily fictionalised. It was about as accurate as Errol Flynn as Robin Hood (Robin of Loxley).
Right then, Anne Bonney, since we're jousting, what was James I physical deformity? (PS if you want to joust me you'll have ride on correct side or be more vulnerable to getting knocked off your mount...)
Speaking of Joust. Another great family movie. "Ivanhoe"
Right then, let's have at it, I am now armed. I believe it was Richard III that had the alleged physical deformity. Shakespeare theorized that he had a shoulder problem, like many here. It was an epidemic in medieval England, I'm quite sure. But I'm not sure about that Stuart guy, James I. He probably had a "pox."
No his tongue was too large for his mouth, thus he slurred and stuff. He had real bad enunciation, not very kingly at all.
Yup...breaststroke is tricky...but I stuggle with crawl...although it's begining to click lately...which is rewarding.
I have gotten my SPL down in *** but now I am on injury rest..and I am antsy to get in the water to try to speed it up.
