Okay, so we all like each other. Well, mostly. S-o-o-o, it does stand to reason that each and every one of has an outstanding DVD to recommend for me ( & the rest of the forums gang) to rent for viewing over the holidays: Two categories: 1.) Seasonal DVD that we must watch 2.) Non-seasonal any genre DVD that will make our holiday viewing. Thanking you in advance.
  • Christmas Vacation - the best Chrismtas movie ever Dazed and Confused - my favorite movie of all time LOTR - oh no! Please, I'm a geek, but not that big of one. And, I agree with Fortress, Home Alone still cracks me up. I'm scared ... I completely agree with Geek that Dazed and Confused is awesome ... I LOVE that movie, too ... White Christmas is fantastic ... I love Meet Me in St. Louis ... The classic cartoon Grinch is fabulous ... My family and I enjoyed The Family Stone, while funny it's definitely sad ... Ditto to LOTR being good .... Harry Potter movies are great, too ... Classic movies ... Some Like it Hot, Cool Hand Luke, and One Flew OVer the CuCoo's (?) Nest ...

How about A Fish Called Wanda? with Jamie Lee Curtis, John Cleese, Kevin Kline. I know it came out back in the 90's (lord forbid), but a hysterial movie that I am sure Rich appreciated!!! Donna
  • Right then, Anne Bonney, since we're jousting, what was James I physical deformity? (PS if you want to joust me you'll have ride on correct side or be more vulnerable to getting knocked off your mount...) Right then, let's have at it, I am now armed. I believe it was Richard III that had the alleged physical deformity. Shakespeare theorized that he had a shoulder problem, like many here. It was an epidemic in medieval England, I'm quite sure. But I'm not sure about that Stuart guy, James I. He probably had a "pox."
  • Poolraat will like this DVD rec: Running Brave. Yes I will. Another favorite of mine: Smoke Signals.

Perhaps his deformity was simply that he could swim breaststroke legally
  • No his tongue was too large for his mouth, thus he slurred and stuff. He had real bad enunciation, not very kingly at all. Well, he shouldn't have been king anyway. Elizabeth should have just caved in and gotten herself hitched instead of remaining the alleged "virgin queen." What fun is that? Elizabeth was a good movie too.
  • Perhaps his deformity was simply that he could swim breaststroke legally Perhaps he had large knees and could swim butterfrog in the fens and swamps of Scotland and England.
  • Scarface is timeless. Yes it is! Greate choice! And hurray for Robert de Niro. I also have to say I enjoyed Meet the Parents. It was hilarious on so many levels, but the scene where Ben Stiller is smoking on the roof had me in stitiches.
  • Are you starting on me now too? "parry, parry, lunge..." I swim with a couple of people twice a week that I can handily beat in fly, usually beat in free, and we are close in back ... we did a set of 400IMs the other day and they kicked my butt ... they ended up lapping me (on #4) because of the evilness that is breaststroke ...
  • Perhaps he had large knees and could swim butterfrog in the fens and swamps of Scotland and England. I love the constantly changing pictures ... perhaps ... he may have been a butterfrogger or *gasp* a distance swimmer ....
