Glad to see everyone cranking up the yardage over the holiday season. I just finished my Christmas Eve workout. It was the 5,4,3,2,1 cycle
5-500's on 6
5-400 IM on 6
5-300 pulls on 3:30
5-200 stroke (fly) on 2:45
5-100s sprint free on 1:05
7,500 yds total plus a 500 warmup and a 200 warmdown. Now I can enjoy my 2 days off and back at it on Friday.
Happy Holidays,
greg
Phil,
Your post was very inspirational. So I gave the 100's on 1:20 a go this morning and hit the wall at number forty. Maybe if there was a pool full of people with the swim crazies, I would have kept it up.
But thanks for the motivation. And best wishes to you all in the New Year. It's good to know that there are other workout fiends out there. That goes for you too Greg. Now that's a session to be jealous of.
;)
Well, read swim magazine last issue on Suzanne Heim Brown. She does 7,000 to 8,000 meter or yard workouts on a daily basis and she is 45 years old. She swam the 800 meter freestyle just a little slower than Debbie Meyer did at the 1968 olympics. 16 x 100 meter swim at 1:15 and her best time in 100 meter free is 1:02.
