what is an inner hipper?
Your groin?
I sometimes get groin pain from kicking breastroke. When it happens I quit for a while like several days or a week then retest it later
you don't want to pull your groin or anything else
if you feel pain please use your brain
and stop doing what's causing it
a stitch in time, often saves nine
with rest and time you should be fine
Do you use the machine at the gym to build up those inner thigh muscles? If not, it helps a lot.
I use it after my 2 hip replacements to help my poor BR kick.
Yep. I do get sore inner thighs and hips from BR. :agree: (it's part of how I know I'm kicking correctly.. when I'm not kicking correctly, I don't get sore)
I get really sore muscles in my inner thighs from doing *** stroke, and it's not injury, just sore muscles from them being used when they aren't used all that often (I'm not a breaststroker!). Is that what you're asking about?
This is exactly what I was refering to Super Chloe... think it was because I was really unlocking my hips for the first time and testing my flexibility. Going to get back in tonight and workout the kinks and be ready for Sunday!
The old good girl bad girl machine. Ha! I thought about that.
This worked for me. I was actually getting so sore that I'd pull the muscles while doing other things. I had a serious muscle imbalance.
Another thing that helps is to flatten out your kick, if it's not pretty flat already.
Does anyone else get sore inner hips after doing a lot of br?
Constantly! :badday: Two years ago, at the St. Nick's meet at Georgia Tech, the water was cold which I LOVE. But, I (evidently) wasn't quite warmed up enough when I went off the blocks for a practice breaststroke start during warm-ups and pulled a muscle during the breakout. Since then, it has been a constant problem. Every time I try to build back up on my breaststroke training, my leg :bitching: at me and I have to back off again. Breaststroke kick sets? Fuhhhgetabout it...
As a happy ending to the story, though, I am going to physical therapy with a therapist who happens to be a USMS breaststroker. She gave me some exercises to do for my legs. :bliss:
Last week I just about hit my breaking point by doing tons of breaststroke kick w/ board and a bunch of lunges and squats to try to iron out my own leg issues. The inner thighs were really sore for a couple of days, but then back to normal. Build up yardage on everything slowly, I wasn't following my own advice (trying to give myself a crash course in *** kick!).
