Has anyone ever tried the CrossFit Endurance program? (www.crossfitendurance.com)
I've been doing CrossFit for about a year and just got back into swimming recently. I'm considering giving up my long swim practices for CFE and doing the single sport swim program from their site.
I'd love to hear what anyone thinks about the program, especially if you've ever tried it.
Thanks! :)

I'm sure CrossFit is a good program and it does make people stronger, but the culty feeling it has annoys me. It seems like everyone that does it has to tell you how it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Qft. THAT is exactly what annoys me about it.

I have never tried CrossFit; however, IT is the new big thing in my line of work. My partners swear by it! And while it can keep my ADD partners entertained for more then a week, there seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding it. This is the article I read on Yahoo last month that warned about possible injuries due to poor form:

While any type of exercise (when done properly) is beneficial, for the purposes of swimming I have to agree with the other posters on here swimming is the best thing to do.

But apparently my form isn't great and my 29 year old body isn't nearly as forgiving as my 18 year old one was.
What do you mean by this? YOur 29 year old body should forgive MORE, not less than your 18. Chances are you are sleeping less, spending time behind a desk, consuming more alchohol and basically living the typical life of a 29 years old. But don't think that your "best days" are behind you. That is simply not the case.
What would happen if a Crossfit coach and a TI coach got inthe room at the same time? Wow, I can only imagine...

I just mean that (according my swim coach, same guy that I had in HS) my form is actually a little better than it was back then but I used to be able to swim MANY more yards without issue. Now my ribs can't take whatever I'm doing wrong and I'm not swimming nearly as much. I actually am sleeping much more and eating better than I did back then too. You've got me, for sure, on the behind a desk guess but even the alcohol consumption is lightyears from what it used to be.
I certainly didn't mean to imply that my best days are behind me, just that I need to be more careful while trying to get to them. Trust me, that's what I'm after :)

But the more I learn about it the more I trust the science behind it.
What science?

That just sounds like swim specific drylands to me, not CrossFit. CrossFit doesn't have a monopoly on basic exercises like burpees or squats or jumps.
That's what I meant when I wrote that I do exercises CrossFit also does. It's not like CrossFit invented doing pushups, squats, pullups etc.

Here's another "CrossFit Endurance" vid about Tababta Swimming: CrossFit - "Tabata Swimming" with Chris Michelmore and Brian Nabeta - YouTube
I've been doing this exercise for years(except I swim fast). Just because CrossFit does it, it doesn't mean it's CrossFit.
So I watched one of the videos (Swim WOD). Probably the worst attempted swim training I've ever seen.
You can tell just by looking at the guy that he is a bad swimmer. I looked closely to figure out why. Probably the bug-eye goggles and the baggy shorts.
Terrible dive.
Terrible 50. It was so slow the middle was excised from the video.
Enough swimming, bro. Let's clean and press the world's lightest dumbbells, while wearing goggles.
Rowing machine, while wearing goggles.
Another terrible dive.
End of video. I presume he drowned.
We need a "LIKE" button here. :lmao:
