I think it would be great to know that I might see him or run into him at the meet should I have the money to go. It is not eeveryday that you get to have the chance to maybe see the greatest distance biker of all time.
I once said the same thing about Janet Evans: if I were to run into Lance at a swim meet, it would play out like Wayne and Garth meeting Alice Cooper.

Lance Armstrong posted on Twitter that USMS Spring Nationals is "on his calendar.". How great would that be for us!?!!
How cool would it be if USMS could get Lance to sign autographs and/or pose for photo ops  with all proceeds going to the Lance Armstrong Foundation? I would gladly stand in line and make a donation for that opportunity to meet Lance and support such an excellent foundation! :applaud:
Personally, I would love to see the proceeds go to the U.S. Masters Swimming – Swimming Saves Lives foundation, but a 50-50 split would be okay.:applaud::applaud::applaud:
Hey, a 50-50 split would be GREAT! Do you think the USMS staff would be game for proposing this to Lance? :cheerleader:
Olympians and national team members don't charge us for autographs at any of the masters meets, so why should he get too? If USMS paid him to make an appearance, I would understand that reasoning. By signing-up for USMS, people shouldn't have to pay to have a photo op with another USMS member.
Yeah, totally agree. That would seem really out of place at a USMS meet to have some vanity booth where you can get a glamour shot with an athlebrity.
Oh, but if I'm at a smaller meet with him I'm darn sure putting a 5:08 for my 500 time and dropping the hammer, ninja style.
Swimming World is reporting he is now an official member of USMS. This leads me to this question. If he is a registered member, swimming at a usms meet, why should people have to pay to get a photo or autograph?

People wouldn't "have to pay"; you're missing the point. The point of setting this up would be to raise money for his foundation, as well as the USMS foundation, as Rob suggested. People would pay because they would want to make a donation to worthy causes. If something like I am suggesting had been set up in Mesa with Rowdy Gaines, I would have gladly done it. Same goes for other Olympians, if the cause they are representing is worthy. (My definition of worthy includes a 3 or 4 star rating at CharityNavigator.org.)
