Olympians and national team members don't charge us for autographs at any of the masters meets, so why should he get too? If USMS paid him to make an appearance, I would understand that reasoning. By signing-up for USMS, people shouldn't have to pay to have a photo op with another USMS member.
Yeah, totally agree. That would seem really out of place at a USMS meet to have some vanity booth where you can get a glamour shot with an athlebrity.
Oh, but if I'm at a smaller meet with him I'm darn sure putting a 5:08 for my 500 time and dropping the hammer, ninja style.
