How to keep my printed workout sheets dry?

I usually print out workouts for the week and put the paper in a clear plastic office sheet holder (3 hole punch style). The paper inevitably gets wet anyway. What do you do? Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep my printouts dry? Thanks
  • Freezer gallon zip-top (not press to seal) are great. Dry the bag out and re-use. Also, if you print the workout, it's got to be with a laser printer, the ink jet ink pages run into a big mess. You can dry the laser print workout on a flat surface and re-use. I wet a laser printed workout and apply it to a kickboard.

I rarely do the same workout twice. I write all our workouts and track in Excel. Just print them on a laser printer, cut to size, and take the paper to the pool. Wet it down and stick it on the side of the pool. Ink does not run when wet and I just pitch after the wo. Record of what I did is in Excel. If I want to do the wo again I just reprint.

Food saver bag. suck it down and seal it up. Cheaper than laminating and last a long time!
  • I write my workout on an index card, then put it in a sandwich sized ziplock bag. It sits up perfectly on the lip of the pool for easy reference during the workout. Plus, it's nice motivation to see the tall stack of index cards I've accumulated at the end of the year.

People over think too much: Piece of copy/computer paper, wet kickboard, stick paper to propped up kickboard. That simple. Just use a ball point pen so the ink doesn't run when wet.

Janet Evans uses Tyvek envelopes with pencil because they are water resistant. People will stare at you out of curiosity. You will look smart and dedicated. Save them make a journal let others look at your work when you make Olympic Trials. :)

  • i jot my workout on a small square dry erase board... you can buy them at any office depot, staples, etc., water does not effect them... then just dry erase and you're good to go.. no mess
  • If you have workouts you reuse, you can laser-print them up on waterproof paper, which you can get at Amazon and probably Staples or Office Depot (search for weatherproof paper also). I made up a complete workout book on this paper and bring it to the pool with me. People look at me strange with my book half-submerged in the water, but it works. And you can write on it if needed with pencil. If you're looking for one-time use, then just wet the paper & stick it to the kickboard or side of the pool, then toss it.
