Hi all, I am not only new to the site but have not been in the water for over 12 years and over that time have added some pounds !!!! looking for a workout that can get me back in shape so I can shave a few lbs... Any help would be great !!!! Thanks !!!

    there are a lot of great web sites out there that have swim workouts posted, including this web site. I was just like you, been out of the water about 25 years, but am slowly getting back into shape. Good luck and stay with it. You'll start seeing results pretty fast.

    Welcome back. I started back after almost 20 years out of the water. I joined a masters swim club. There is no way I would push myself like I do with the rest of the team. I hope you enjoy your time back in the water. Katie

    :drown: I am also rejoining competetive swimming after 34 years out of the pool. I will swim the 1500 meters on Fri Dec 7. I though I read somewhere that we can start that distance from in the pool, Is that so?

    How's your ankle flexibility? This is the first area I would train... Increasing the range of motion allows your feet to "hold" more water, changing your body position, and making swimming much easier... If you're interested I can give you some good dryland exercises to improve ankle flexibility.
