Swim happy

So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week. Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
  • Way to go Elaine.I knew that work would pay off for you.:bouncing::bouncing::bouncing:.Thank you also for your kind words about my swim.I am really really happy with it.:banana::banana: Thanks, King Frog! I'm just a tadpole compared to you; but, today's swim meant a lot to me. :D
  • Great meeting you at MD, Elaine, but sorry it happened at your sad moment there! Congrats on the time and the medal. You have worked hard and supported everyone else and deserve some good fortune. Unfortunately, we had to leave about 9:45 this morning and I missed your swim.

I really appreciate that! :D I'm sorry our meeting was so brief! I tried to find you later, but it never worked out for me to be there during your races. As it turned out, the DQ was overturned, and I medaled in the 400 IM and 200 breaststroke. As the week went on and I recovered from Worlds (and all the sightseeing!), things improved. I was happy to end the meet on my highest note ever! I see you are from North Carolina. Short course Nationals will be back in Greensboro in 2016, so I am sure we'll meet again there! Meanwhile, come hang out with us frogs on "The Breaststroke Lane."
  • Call me crazy, but, swimming in an indoor pool on Sunday made me very happy. Felt great to be in a nice indoor pool, and be out of this crazy 97F weather. Plus my new swim team!!! They have made me feel very, welcome, and are very supportive!!! Which pool and which team? I'm just curious, since you are in my home town. It sounds like the Santa Ana's have hit! :whiteflag:

  • I had a swim happy on Saturday when I competed at the Southside Seals Pentathlon meet and raced an Ironman Pentathlon for the first time. :afraid: I successfully completed the 400 IM, 200 free, 200 breaststroke, 200 backstroke, and 200 fly races in 2-1/4 hours. My times were pokey, but I feared the piano crashing on my back in my last race- 200 fly. Instead, looking back on the film, I kept my stroke together, even if it was VERY slow: youtu.be/t_XVrJVyhIQ
  • That Fly looked pretty good to me. You were consistent, and blew your lane neighbors away! Wow, ElaineK, you are an Animal. Or, er, rather, you are a Fish.:applaud::bow::cheerleader: Thanks, Bill and Denise! :smooch:

They have been in Long Beach for quite some time. They have added US Masters to their Club Mix. They are Shore Aquatics. They practice at both the Belmont Pool and at Cal State Long Beach. Lucky me I get the best of both worlds, in terms of which pools I can swim in!
