So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
I was on vacation in Key Largo last week. I swam SCM four days in a row at the Jacobs Aquatic Center with the Angry Beavers Swim Club. We went back Wednesday afternoon so my 5yo grandson could take a crack at their splash pool for a few hours, so I got in another easy 1100 meters then. I can't remember the last time I swam four days in a row. I was happy.
Was at a pool last evening. The facility operator used an old beat up swim fin as a door stopper on one of the doors. I thought it was halirous. It made me laugh when I saw it. Was a funny thing to see after my workout. I thought they did a good job of keeping a swimming theme going. Know I know what to do with my old swim fins when they need replacing.
I wonder what other wacky/fun ideas we could come up with for old swim gear.
I wonder what other wacky/fun ideas we could come up with for old swim gear.My wife uses my old goggles to cut unions. She has another pair she uses in conjuntion with heavy duty dish gloves, with one hand holding a spray bottle, for cleaning around the house. She's is hilarious

Along the same lines, my husband wears my old goggles when he has to go up into our dusty old attic.
Set an un-official meet record today. Swam a 250 yard butterfly, instead of a 200 butterfly. I lost count LOL. I did not get DQ'd, that was the best part. Hilarious!
After hurting my shoulder Apr 2013 recovery seemed slow.It has only been in the last month that I have felt "on".So I was surprised and pleased to do my best times in 3 yr at Nats in Santa Clara:100 BR 1:07.98 and 200 BR 2:30.62. Even if I bomb the 50 tomorrow it is a great meet.

WooHOOO King Frog! Way to go! :applaud: :cheerleader: :ohyeah:
Good luck in your 50- Ribbbit! :bolt:
I was at a meet recently where a swimmer in the 100 free stopped at the wall at the 75 to catch her breath. Everyone started cheering her on, and she finished to another huge burst of applause.
King Frog hasn't posted his "swim happy" yet, so I am going to post it for him. :D After setting the goal and thinking about breaking the World Record in the 200 breaststroke over the last two years, he did it at the World Championships in Montreal! :applaud:
My Worlds, on the other hand, was a disaster in the pool, even though I had a BLAST and saw way too much of Montreal in between my races. :whiteflag: Adding Quebec City on to it was even more fun, but I was truly exhausted by the time I swam my 200 fly at Nationals.
Now for my "swim happy" to end on a very positive note: After resting up here in Maryland and getting my frog legs back, I swam 12 seconds under my seed time (I was 12 seconds over in Montreal) in the 200 breaststroke today, won a medal, and got a personal best time EVER in the 200 LC breaststroke. :bliss: I also swam my best breaststroke relay split in two years during yesterday's Mixed Medley. I never thought I would ever see a PB in breaststroke ever again, but I proved myself wrong. :ohyeah:
Way to go Elaine.I knew that work would pay off for you.:bouncing::bouncing::bouncing:.Thank you also for your kind words about my swim.I am really really happy with it.:banana::banana:
