Goggles are hard to find that fit one's face. It will be interesting to know how many different goggles one uses. Maybe some are for lap swim, some are for open water, some are for race? Some people do seem to have a lot of goggles, from the "what is in your swim bag" thread, and I wonder if all those goggles are the same or different?
I use Tyr Rocket Sockets for practice and always carry 2 indoor and 2 outdoor Womens Vanquisher goggles for meets.
I generally only use a pair of rocket sockets for only 3 months then throw them out.
I hate going to work with goggle marks around my eyes after morning practice...
One time I snuck out of work for a little while. When I got back, someone looked at my eyes and asked "so, how was your swim?"

That is the reason I use rocket sockets for practice. This way I don't have to have goggle eyes at work. But they fall off when I dive in so I don't use them for racing.
speedo hydrospecs jr - they suit my smaller face - and I just tighten them up for meet. Outdoors I use shaded goggles.

I have several pairs of TYR Femme Petite (plain colored, metalized colored, and clear) for meets and some practicing. I have started wearing an Aqua Sphere Vista swim mask for early morning practice. I got tired of having rings around my eyes till after lunch. I'm in my 50's and the facial skin just doesn't bounce back as quick as it used to. I have a clear pair and a tinted pair for outdoor swimming. They are ssweet!

The Aquasphere Kayenne Lady goggles are good for that, as well. They don't leave marks the way the TYR Femme Petite goggles do. I took your advice and bought the TYR goggles for meets (and they are perfect for that purpose), but they become quite uncomfortable during long practice swims. The Aquasphere Kayenne's are much softer and have a molded nosepiece. The visibility is also much better and they adjust very quickly and easily, without having to take them off. They are not cheap (only $1 cheaper than my new Speedo), but they were well worth the price! :applaud:

I've tried those Kayene's but couldn't get a good seal. Speedo makes a goggle similar to Kayene and it wouldn't seal on me either. The Vista mask looks dorky but raccoon eyes at work look even worse. There's no problem with flip turns either!

Who cares about how it looks? Have you seen my purple and white flowered suit! Now, THAT looks dorky, but, hey, it was on clearance and it's indestructible! :afraid:
I looked up the mask you have and it looks quite comfortable. If I hadn't bought the Kayenne's, I would give that mask a try!
I'm always trying new gear. Maybe I'll pick up a pair of socket rockets. If those are less likely to give me goggle eyes, maybe I can use them whenever I need to be stealthy.
Why not use comfortable goggles for all occasions, since the speed effect from the shape of the goggles is negligible?
I like the Sweedes for racing, they're the only ones that consistently stay on when I dive in. I was using them for practice, but then I met with my optometrist who convinced me to stop swimming with my contact lenses in because of the risk of bacteria getting behind the lenses. (I still compete with lenses, because I hate walking blind around the pool deck and carrying my glasses to the starting block.)
So I switched back to prescription. I used to have a pair of TYR femme 'scripts, and I LOVED THEM. But I gave them away in a moment of foolishness. I can't find them anywhere now, and the regular TYR prescription goggles are hurting like the devil after 1000 yards or so. I think I'll try the Speedo 'scripts, because I used the same mirrored kind for lake swimming this summer, and they were comfy.
So my plea here is for Sweedes to make a prescrition lens. OMG what a great day that would be. :)
