  • I am headed out east to Colonies in two weeks as a prep for Nationals. It looks like it is shaping up to be a good meet. The last time I checked there were 404 swimmers pre-registered. 100 Free 50 Free 100 Back 50 Back 100 Fly 50 Fly 100 IM. 4 events on Sunday may be too much depending on how much rest I get in between. I may have to scratch the 100 Back because this will be my last chance to swim the 50 Free with the full-body suit. I am registered for the 50 free in Atlanta but it is my 6th event so I may not be able to swim it if the 6th is eliminated. I have not been to George Mason. It looks like a nice pool.
  • 200 LCM fly is something else. After the first 75 yards today I kept myself going every length by saying"just finish this 25,then you can rest at the wall if you have to."
  • Wow, yesterday's PNA results are already in the results database! With 6 more weeks of championship meets still to go, I'm clinging to #8 in the 200 fly, #9 in the 400 IM, and #10 in the 200 back. So... I'm... looking forward to some meters swims! I heard we're going to have LCM Zones in Port Orchard in July.

I don't know if you wear a "cheating suit" but I think that it will be easier next year when Masters goes back to "real swimming" in yards competitions. Also, LCM swimming is more pure form of swimming due to less walls. Short Course is such an artifical form of swimming, ugh! Sweet time in your 200 fly.

I've been wearing the same pair of Tyr Tracer Light leggings in competitions since Jan-09. I'm planning to get Tyr Tracer Light jammers next. All else being equal, I'd expect my in-season times to be a bit slower. All else is never equal. I intend to get faster.

I'm not sure my 400 IM will, although it will be in the top ten when it gets posted..... I'll see what weekend the July meet is and plan to come on up if I'm not vacationing at Sisters then.

Also, LCM swimming is more pure form of swimming due to less walls. Short Course is such an artifical form of swimming, ugh! Bah! There's that vile word again: "pure." No, sorry, not accurate. :-P. Short course is every bit as much "swimming" as long course; it just emphasizes different elements of swimming. Last I checked, we were in pools, not OW, and thus turns and streamlines are part of "swimming." I just hope more chicks enter Zones or I will not be getting enough rest. I feel I can only swim "purely" with adequate rest. :D

I will see you there. 400 swimmers could be a low number of entries but there is a alot of good competition at this meet so there will be plenty of people to race at the meet.
