I will see you there. 400 swimmers could be a low number of entries but there is a a lot of good competition at this meet so there will be plenty of people to race at the meet.
I don't know what the usual number is; it is high enough that they run men and women in separate courses, though.
I wonder if having nationals in Atlanta -- more of an east-coast draw -- might decrease attendance at Colonies.
Colonies Zone SCY Championships attendance:
2006: 520 swimmers
2007: 499
2008: 473
2009: 514
2006 was an east coast Nationals (Coral Springs) and 2009 was west coast (Clovis). So the meet seems to be ~500 regardless of the location of Nationals. It's now at 465 and climbing (tonight is the deadline) but it looks like it will end up more or less the same as previous years.

I believe the meet last year had around 600 swimmers. Don't know if that is a normal number or if it was high because of nationals being on the west coast that year.

Hmm, did Jim compromise Ande's account also?
Sorry, the go out like a man, die like a dog theory is not for me.
But the only reason I'm doing the 200 IM is another opportunity to work on my opening 50 fly pace for my 100. I want to go out in 27-mid and I figure I can rest all I want on the 50 back and 50 free.
200 Fly wasn't an option because I would climb out after the 1st 50.
After the first 50? I'd at least make it to the 75.

Everyone knows you are much tougher than Wolf-girl.
I did a workout once in Flagstaff at NAU's awesome pool. I rode my bike there from my brother's house and had to call him to pick me and the bike up afterward. That altitude is a killer. Flag is about 6900 feet. You should come out for this summer's Fast Times in the Cool Pines swim meet (www.azlmsc.org/.../2010 Cool_pines_Meet_entry_form_2.pdf).
My daughter's club team is spending a week this summer training at NAU. I'm so jealous; I'd love to coordinate a training trip there right prior to tapering and then come down to sea level to swim fast!
