New Swimmer here! New some help.

I am in my second full week of swimming and I am at 72 minutes, freestyle. I have never been into swimming before for a workout but I love it now. I lift weights heavy three days a week. I am trying to figure what the balance should. I feel like swimming everyday but don't want to wear myself out. Any ideas on what I should do? I have been swimming about 4 days a week so far. THANKS! :banana:

    Joeboo, If your pool is near the gym, you might want to try at least 15-20 minutes of easy swimming immediately after you lift. I think you will find that it aids, rather than hinders, recovery between weight workouts. Then you can do longer swim workouts on days you don't lift. Good luck!

If you have the time and inclination... and aren't feeling "worn out" yet, then I would say swim everyday! :bliss: You may want to start thinking about more than just swimming freestyle straight for 72 minutes, however. There are some good beginning workouts posted in the workout section of these boards that you may want to look at.
