I am in my second full week of swimming and I am at 72 minutes, freestyle. I have never been into swimming before for a workout but I love it now. I lift weights heavy three days a week. I am trying to figure what the balance should. I feel like swimming everyday but don't want to wear myself out. Any ideas on what I should do? I have been swimming about 4 days a week so far. If your pool is near the gym, you might want to try at least 15-20 minutes of easy swimming immediately after you lift. I think you will find that it aids, rather than hinders, recovery between weight workouts. Then you can do longer swim workouts on days you don't lift.
