Mama Phelps will be outfitted by Chico's for upcoming swimming meets. You know that she is getting a book deal. I know that she starts her own press tour when she gets back to the States.

I hope he gets a brilliant financial planner along with the upcoming endorsements and what not.
I think that Phelps could have medaled in the backstrokes. I think that he sees the 100 free as a new frontier for him like the 200 free was in Athens. In Beijing, he destroyed the field in the 200 free. He will probably try to get his total medals to 20 in London. Hopefully, Lochte can be the dominant 400 IMer if Phelps doesn't do that event anymore.

Michael Phelps Expected to Become Biggest Money-Making Olympian
"To get a sense of how much money Michael Phelps is likely to make in the next 10 years, imagine each of those eight medals around his neck as 1,000 pounds of solid gold."

Bowman did an interview with CBC and said that Phelps wants to pursue the 100s.
I somewhat wonder how people will view him going into the London Olympics. As is stands now, there is no swimmer that will touch him for at least 2 years going forward. Piersol will most likely be out of the mix, as well as Jason Lezac, which could open up the 100 back and 100 free for Phelps - though I am not certain he could get past international competition.
I do know I have never seen an individual athlete get as much attention over a short span of time (7 days) that Phelps recieved over the past week. It was on par with the attention given to Jordan or Tiger at a NBA Final/U.S. Open event.
