I spoke to Mark Gill just after, and he mourned the fact that he was not announcing that race when it occurred. I sure hope I don't have a piano race when Mark has the microphone.
Chris... do you mean like the piano race I had in the 200 free???? My family just loved Mark's comments!

30.84 1:03.99 (33.15) 1:39.65 (35.66) 2:16.89 (37.24)
Yep, I'd say that qualifies as a piano race! Thanks for letting us know about it. :)
I swam last relay on Sunday and was back in the pool at 5:15 on Monday. I just stepped wrong and my right knee popped so I'll be out a few days now but I'm itching to get back in. Competition is another thing. There is Zones this weekend (not doing) but I don't know what is after that.
If Ande had swum at nationals, he would have done a warmdow swim, immediately followed by a 3,000-yard workout complete with a rolling start 25 at the end. Then, about an hour before he had to get to the airport, he would have done a complete weight workout, then asked someone to time him again on another roll-start 25.
Ande can't say I'm too far from the truth.
How long a break are people taking? I am taking one week off and I'm
already getting anxious to get started again. There are meets coming
up in September.
Time off???
I just took 2 1/2 weeks off getting ready to race and all I got to do was boil my brains out in a heat wave.:rant3: After Houston and now Portland, I am going to have to rethink the outdoor summer meet thing.
Yes... was back in the water Monday and plan to start lifting again today (Wed). More than just getting in shape.... calories burned need to go up again after playing video games for my 2 weeks of taper.
Hey Al, I ran into you in the hallway of the hotel during Nationals and said I thought you were on the board. I think you misunderstood me to mean the USMS Board of Directors, but I meant this "board" as in discussion board.

Two weeks out of the water. I took two days off everything, went on a bike ride today. I'll mix cycling and lifting (starting light) during that time.
But I don't have a meet anytime soon. If I did, I'd be swimming. (Well, I do have an alum reunion swim meet in September...:)...guess I better get to it!)
