TRUTH: MOST People who use fins are lazy loafers.
I eat the same healthy food I ate when I was a runner. I was just thinner then. Rich, Pul-leeeze don't brag about your figure! lol

I do agree with Fort that distance swimmers are not morally superior. They are intellectually superior and generally better looking people, however.
I also got fat swimming but that was also the period in my life where my three food groups were beer, Doritos and ice cream.
Well, I'm not giving up beer. What else will I do in Austin if I'm only swimming 450 yards?!
Post a pic and we'll decide if you're better looking. If you and your distance buddies are like those anorexic runners you're always ragging on, no thanks. A little muscle is good. :weightlifter: (Unless it's all in the shoulders, causing an entire wardrobe replacement.)
We did 9x100 Long Course Meters. 3 on 1:15/ 3 on 1:30 / 3 on 1:10 at the end of practice. It was one of the hardest sets I've done. :whiteflag:
Ouch. Even WITH fins that is gonna suck. Especially those last three. Touch and goes at that point.

Myth: You can burn body fat by swimming. Ha, ha, Rich.
If you're overweight, any exercise will cause you to lose weight. But if you're not, swimming is not a great fat burning exercise. Swimming makes me fat. It's the worst part about the sport for me. :rant3:
You can run all day and not burn all your fat if you don't use the appropriate nutrition.
You're so fat Les...you ought to give Richard Simmons a call about a new workout DVD.
:weightlifter:
Puh-leeeeeeeeeez don't whine aboutyour figure.

I would argue it's not the swimming that increases fat percentile, but what we eat before and after working out. The body naturally goes into survival mode and wants to store glucose, and we have to trick that mechanism by choosing the food we eat. The timing of this is equally important.

Please expand here on on a new thread. I'd love a food blog to help me shed the last 10lbs. Though if I do I'll need to hire a bodyguard to beat Fort back...
:lmao:
Example for last night. I got home about 6:30. Ate a power bar triple threat; took accelerade to swim, cranked out a tough (for me) 4k , drank endurox soon after in my car, got home and ate chicken cutlet with pasta and tomato sauce at past 10 pm. 1 aleve, 1 mug caffeine free coffee and a glass of water before bed.
