    1) learn how to swim backstroke 2) get better at underwater pull outs 3) add an event to my list of strong events that i actually swim (50 fr/br/fl 100fr) becasue i need more than 4 events that im confident to do well in. Thinking about trying to add 100 IM or 100 ***.

I wish I could lose weight too but that conflicts with my only other goal, which is to make it through the winter without a wetsuit. My body seems to want to maintain a thick layer of blubber. :shakeshead:
  • New Years Resolutions for 2008: 1) lose the last 10-15 pounds - target of 150-155. 2) top ten in SCM. 3) lower my 200 Fly LCM (45-49) Georgia record. 4) break 22 minutes in my 1650 and break :30 in the 50 and everything in between.

Be under 1:10 for every 100 when we do our yearly 100X100. This year it's on the 31st. I don't have the mental toughness to sustain the two-and-a-half hour event. Maybe in 2008, I'll grow up and focus. Shucks, I have the same problem in golf.

Go from 220 to 200, later go to 190... Not miss any regular practices. Try and swim two extra days, besides the three of regular training with coach. Do more butterfly. Swim more I.M. at meets. Swim 9 o.w. 1,000 meter meets. Take off one second from my 50 meter free.

I've been after that sub-1 min 100 SCY free for years, gave up for a while and did more weights and technique, but I'm planning to do a meet this year, maybe I'll finally get it. What 3 events are you close to NQT's? I'm on the fringe for all ***. Not that I'll go to nationals, but that's a good goal. I can do a 25 fly, beyond that I switch to drill. I really need to dedicate some time to learning that also.... Been doing masters for almost 10 years. I started in the 25-29 age group, and things were much easier, especially 200 BR. Times are much more competitive in the 35-39 (where I am now) and don't look to be getting easier for 20+ years.
  • Tim, Take a look at the 40-44 age group. Yikes. I feel your pain. Paul
