Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot: If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.

You have previously admitted your steadfast belief in your Canadian national hero Ben Johnson until he was proven a total fraud a liar. Therefore, your track record speaks for itself on this matter. Further, you continue to dispute everything McNamee has stated, despite the fact that every single allegation about other athletes has been testified to as truth by those very athletes. You have also said you believe all athletes should be allowed and encouraged to take drugs. Your credibility is therefore shot on this topic. The honest discussion of this matter is interesting, the hyperbole and nonsense you bring is not. I stuck with Ben until it was proof positive. It seems none like you can stand behind a superb athlete like DT. I will stand up any time for Clemens, a person I really dislike personality wise, until really proven guilty. Would you stand up for Clemens if it was a test made by the French on Lance???

I go to Church because of a belief there may be a god. It does not mean there is a god. If it comes down to what I really believe is true I am not going to say. My older brother said in a prayer when his son was on death bed, he was an atheist. God save my son and I will believe in you. He did not believe in god before and after the prayer.

Uh...show me where I am sure about anything? If anything you are SURE that she didn't do anything. I'm just wondering. Jeez...this isn't that difficult. Do you think Dara has never wondered if other swimmers have doped? Sure she has. But she doesn't let it affect her precisely because she doesn't run around deciding guilt or innocence based on her beliefs! That was not really directed towards you, per se. It was directed towards anybody who thinks she is doping.

Now how did that happen???? I guess i pushed save twice. Thought I might add there was something flying around in my garbage in Mexico, I know it for a fact even though I did not see them flying. The evidence maggots in the garbage.

So judges, juries and beliefs actually cause the crime? Or, does the person cause the crime and we have to rely on a very imperfect system that uses some concrete evidence and some opinion to convict or acquit? And I suppose O.J. didn't murder Nicole since the jury said so. I, again, assert that the crime was committed by someone no matter if I believe it was space aliens or O.J. My beliefs don't change what happened. And I readily admit that WE MAY NEVER REALLY KNOW who did it. I also admit that I have wondered if O.J. is guilty! My belief doesn't make it so!!! Precisely. I have yet to see any of this so far. Plenty of opinion though. Opinions are like rectums. Everybody has one...and they all stink.

Damn...where the hell is that tinactin?
  • The deciding factor for me is that Dara seems genuinely nice. Of course, so did Marion Jones. I actually root for Clemens to get caught in his lie (if he is lying). I especially love to remember his little temper tantrum in which he threw the end of Mike Piazza's broken bat at him as he ran to first base. Clemens is a 40 year old punk and I hope he is cheating and gets caught so that I can have a true reason to discount his amazing baseball achievements. I didn't wish that on Marion Jones and I don't wish it on Dara Torres either, unless of course, I find out that she's a Yankees fan!!! The 'Stud is right. Nothing I can say will make the pessimists of this thread start believing Dara, just like there is nothing that the pessimists can say that will dissuade me from believing in Dara. I prefer to be an optimist just because that's who I am.
  • I think you used the wrong terms - I think "realists" and "idealists" might be more appropriate.

You missed my point entirely. Or maybe I just used your text to make a point of my own. ;)
