Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot: If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.

Unfortunately, this seems to be largely rhetorical. Since there is no real proof positive means of determining her guilt or innocence, you are probably correct.

Paul there are just too many doubting Thomas' talking about her ability to swim at age 40 and do better times. Should everone give up on training and just take drugs? Do you think she uses drugs? I don't.
  • How about optimistic realism? It is within the range of plausibility. Not everyone is bad. In fact, the majority of people choose to be good, most of the time. Quite simply, Dara Torres does not deserve this slander. If anyone has earned the role of positive mother, it's her. At the of the day, the only proof of anything tainted has been preserved on this thread. Why has she, "if anyone," "earned" the role of positive mother exactly? I don't think she's doing anything exceptional in this area. Just doing her mom job like the rest of the world. It's not slander if it's in writing. Whether she "deserves" it really has nothing to do with the discussion. And I really don't see how a discussion of potential misconduct makes anyone "tainted." Are you trying to libel us? :joker:

Should I now say because someone hopes Dara is 100% clean??? That I hope Phelps is clean??? I hope Sullivan is clean??? I think I will say they are all clean!!! I hope all cheaters are caught.
  • If anyone has earned the role of positive mother, it's her. What, huh? Working out and paying a bunch of trainers makes you a positive mother? Is that the only requirement? She has a part time job training for the Olympics, that's pretty much the sum total of it all. Since she has herself acknowledged the skepticism how exactly by discussing it are we tainting her? I would also like to point out that this forum has a history of questioning purported achievements, along with praising them. Not sure why this topic should be off limits.
  • All this :rant3: and :argue: is just :dedhorse::dedhorse::dedhorse:.

So judges, juries and beliefs actually cause the crime? Or, does the person cause the crime and we have to rely on a very imperfect system that uses some concrete evidence and some opinion to convict or acquit? And I suppose O.J. didn't murder Nicole since the jury said so. I, again, assert that the crime was committed by someone no matter if I believe it was space aliens or O.J. My beliefs don't change what happened. And I readily admit that WE MAY NEVER REALLY KNOW who did it. I also admit that I have wondered if O.J. is guilty! My belief doesn't make it so!!! Uh...show me where I am sure about anything? If anything you are SURE that she didn't do anything. I'm just wondering. Jeez...this isn't that difficult. Do you think Dara has never wondered if other swimmers have doped? Sure she has. But she doesn't let it affect her precisely because she doesn't run around deciding guilt or innocence based on her beliefs! No, but the beliefs of the jury in spite of overwhelmong evidence "believed" otherwise.......

Her body reminds me of nearly every female swimmer on the Canadian swim team in 1956. There was one that was a little chubbier. Only difference is DT is prettier.
