Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot:
If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.

He has not been charged, therefore he can neither be guilty nor not guilty. As with most recent doping matters, he will probably be examined for failure to tell the truth to either Congress or another such Federal agency. You will note that your boy McNamee is not being investigated further by our Congress. That should tell you something.
There is no such thing as "not guilty so far." Guilt is not a sliding scale, you either are or aren't.
What a big mistake picking on the athlete and not the guy who repeatedly commited crimes on numerous people..
She just looks very lean and fit in the youtube video. (Although I must say it's a load of BS that's she says she's doing all this for her kid.)
It's a sure sign of the apocalypse when I agree with both Fort and the Smiths on the same thread. Anytime I heard "do it for the kids" or "it's not about the money" I am instantly skeptical, at the very least.
I do not understand the backlash against those who see some murkiness potentially in this. First, it's never ever been done before in any major sport (don't go quoting some obscure marathoner or a doped up weight lifter as proof). Second, virtually every single example of such accomplishment in the last 20 years has been drug fueled (I can only hold up Lance Armstrong as a contrary example and it's not like he has been immune from speculation). Third, she has twice left the sport and has some peripheral (at the very least) association with some dubious characters.
If folks expect us to set aside the parade of athletes who have tested positive or continuously denied taking the juice just because we are swimmers and like DT, well, that is just plain naive. Swimming is certainly no stranger to drug abuse and might even claim a partial title as one of the dirtiest sports around, for a period of time anyway, hopefully not now.

No disrespect intended. But what does "belief" have to do with anything?
I've always thought news polls that survey beliefs were worthless. What is the point in polling the public as to whether they believe O.J. was guilty of murder? People's beliefs have nothing to do with the facts of his guilt or innocence. The only thing that matters are the facts.
Are any of us in the position to know the facts about any athlete's performance (except or own)? No. Can we have feelings/questions one way or another without claiming to know? Yes.
More power to Dara. I hope she's 100% clean and that she makes the Olympic team. But that doesn't mean I don't wonder if sports at that level for any athlete is truly clean.
Do you live in the same world as the rest of us???? Belief has everything to do with how you view life, people, relationships....everything!! Your belief system is who you are!!!
You even quote it by saying: "Can we have feelings/questions one way or another without claiming to know? Yes" These are beliefs....if not, what are they?
Let me help you stay on track in the conversation.Thank you for helping me stay on track in the conversation.
I was starting to believe this conversation was about totally unfounded accusations (excuse me speculation) based entirely on a few photos and the phenomenal accomplishments of an amazing athlete; being made by a few individuals who likely achieved great collegiate and masters success through their own use of performance enhancing drugs and they can’t believe that others can achieve greatness without also cheating.
I stand corrected.

In a court of law, the beliefs of the jury and/or the judge have a fair amount to do with one's guilt or innocence. IMHO anyhow.
Don't believe anything you hear or read and only half of what you see.
I remember and have said this one before. I entered a race and saw the times that several US swimmers had marked on their entry forms. As a matter of fact one of the times was a new American record for 100 yards freestyle. I beat him in the 100 final and it was nowhere near his record time. All I want are the facts.
Huh??? So for you life is black and white? Yes or no as an easy definitive answer to every question? Do you not allow yourself to ask questions about things? That's all I'm doing. Admitting that I don't know and that I do wonder. BIG DIFFERENCE. If you can't see that I don't know how to help you!
Not even wondering about those who are "fast". Mostly about those who are exceedingly great who stand to benefit financially/career-wise from that greatness. Just wondering. Not willing to assert that I know one way or another.
Hey lets go down to fourteen, everyone who has a faster time after age fourteen has to be tested.
Um, if you are over 14, or over 12 or whatever and compete in certain meets you are tested. Heck, my 8 year old had to sign a "no alcohol, no tobacco, no drugs" agreement for her year round team, although I did forge her name.
