TJ Burke: No disrespect intended. But what does "belief" have to do with anything? I've always thought news polls that survey beliefs were worthless. What is the point in polling the public as to whether they believe O.J. was guilty of murder? People's beliefs have nothing to do with the facts of his guilt or innocence. The only thing that matters are the facts. Are any of us in the position to know the facts about any athlete's performance (except or own)? No. Can we have feelings/questions one way or another without claiming to know? Yes. More power to Dara. I hope she's 100% clean and that she makes the Olympic team. This thread is suprisingly respectful in the replies. Very calm considering the the topic. I think if we were to state our true feelings it could be considered liable. Here is my thought and what I believe - Darra does not do anything illegal. Is there any one else who will tell their true thoughts? I don't mean maybe or I am skeptical or it is possible.

I believe her to be a remarkable athlete and believe her to be clean.

Yes, and the legal argument is "Defamation of Character." Sheesh. This is simply not accurate in this case. Expressing skepticism is not a false statement for defamation purposes. It's just an opinion. Moreover, Dara is a public figure. For her to sue for defamation, she would have to prove by clear and convincing evidence that a forum poster made false statements with actual malice. Very tough standard. None of that has occurred here. Get your law right. :shakeshead:

For sure Gobears you are not in that position and no one is. What you are saying is all are guilty regardless of the truth. Everyone who is fast must be guilty because they are fast. Everyone who is fast over 40 is guilty - Why because they have a top 10 time. Is Ande guilty? I don't think so but he is fast he must be guilty.
