Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot: If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.

Read all the posts. Don't see an attitude - just a strong opinion. You got a little personal. IMHO you should have sent her an e-mail and told her your opinion there instead of calling her out on the forum. You ain't been here long have you?...got a lot to learn about people in here!!!!

Rooster67 must be a male Fort or his sign in name would be Oldhen67. No one should make a statement in a forum and believe they are not going to get reply in public. It is not a secret place and I will not send dirty little emails to anyone. Read all the posts. Don't see an attitude - just a strong opinion. You got a little personal. IMHO you should have sent her an e-mail and told her your opinion there instead of calling her out on the forum.

If you take away the right to question and call out this forum would die. The best threads tend to be the ones that get the folks pushing and shoving! Most of it is done with much good humoured baiting and sniping...sometimes it get's ugly but not usually!

Ouch! Got a little hot in here. Sorry for the attitude in the earlier posts. I can see how it could have come across. I do appreciate your sticking up for me though Rooster. Why are folks so passionate about this issue (Dara and her performance)? Because many of us are over 40, swim and wish we could make the Olympic team??? :) PS I'm a smartass ;)

Why are folks so passionate about this issue (Dara and her performance)? Um, I think it's because there are certain male members of this forum... who are in their forties... who are quite taken aback by the fact that a FEMALE swimmer, also in her forties... can beat them.... :duel:

SwimStud - You sure do have a new look! It is true about us folks over 40, but I've seen some strong opinions on the forum from folks that I know are under 40. I sure don't want to get in trouble and guess why? I'm no good at guessing, but th under 40's are interested because it's still elevant as they'll be 40 one day. I see it as DT doing something phenomenal: Some are questioning, based on visual, medical and statistical history or knowledge. Some are supporting her because there s nothing coming up in testing, so therefore she is clean until proven otherwise. Some are in between; amazed at her feats, wishing they could do something similar relative to their abilities, and are hoping that it is not another "mugging."
  • Glider, you are so witty! FYI - Billy Glastetter is going to be inducted in the East Boros Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame this year (along with his Uncle, some bigwig coach in who-knows-what-sport from Cincinatti, I think)! I got a TORRES cap from my sister who went to Trials. I will await the outcome of that other post to see if I should wear it or not!
  • With Hardy, the second place finisher behind Dara in the 50 free, testing positive, will this raise even more suspicions about Dara's performance?
