Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot:
If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.
Because many of us are over 40, swim and wish we could make the Olympic team???
:)
PS I'm a smartass ;)
SwimStud - You sure do have a new look! It is true about us folks over 40, but I've seen some strong opinions on the forum from folks that I know are under 40. I sure don't want to get in trouble and guess why?
Massage therapists are sometimes known as liars. The last time I visited one she said to me your body is like a twenty year olds. Do you think she was looking for a tip.???
I like the question about the rest of us feeling old after 40. My massage therapist tells me the worse thing we do to our bodies is sit all day at computers working.
And the name of this thread is------------. Thank you, Mr. Perry. I was getting disgusted - the poor woman was just raising some valid concerns about Dara. Somebody questioning shouldn't get burned at the stake.
There is a difference in raising questions and having a "holier than thou" attitude to what someone is doing or why that person is doing it.
To say that USADA is at the edge of the curve is simply not true. It's like saying cycling is a clean sport or elite Balco clients were routinely caught for drug use. Growth hormone and insulin are still not reliable or accurate tests. The USADA may be trying hard, but they are far from the edge of the curve.

"The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency is as good as it gets. They're at the edge of the curve. It's impossible to ever prove that somebody is innocent. By the same token, it's impossible to do more than Torres is doing. This person is fully participating in all the drug-testing programs; she's in an accelerated protocol. They're doing that to try to make things even better. The athletes are under notice 24-7, 365. At any moment of the day, you can get a knock on your door. You think about your own lifestyle, any moment of any day, someone can come knocking on the door saying I need you to provide a sample for me. If you're going to be an elite athlete under the USADA protocol, you must participate. The standard protocol is primarily urine testing. She's doing blood testing. She's doing what is as close to the ideal protocol as we have today."

Really? And who is the ultimate judge of that? Don't see how this relates to your non-civil remark I quoted.
Read the early posts, it's all in there. The later posts do go about raising good questions, but the early post have an attitude about them.
And to answer your question, I have the right to form an opinion on a post or it's tone and to speak my mind. If you don't like it, that's your problem.
Wookiee is right, as the above-quote illustrates. The early posts were not exactly raising questions, more like proselytizing. But she's cleaned it up.
Off to read the long depressing article.
Don't read it that way. Looks like she was trying to explain why women Dara's age were being hard on Dara. Don't see proselytizing there. Looks to me like she was just trying to figure out why women are hard on her.
BTW my experience has been that women are harder on each other than we are on them.

Read all the posts. Don't see an attitude - just a strong opinion. You got a little personal. IMHO you should have sent her an e-mail and told her your opinion there instead of calling her out on the forum.
