Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot:
If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.
Sucked you in though didn't it? Even got the legendary Tim Garton to make his first ever post...good friggin stuff!!
Contrary to what most people probably think when they dare to venture in here is that the vast majority of us have met and in many cases have become friends (except for Geek, who's only "friend" is his $7000 tricycle)...and this kind of banter...usually...should be taken as good discussions smothered in sarcasm, barbs, baiting and anything/everything lese that keeps (most) of us coming back.
Paul, just for the record.....I totally dislike every one of you in here (hate is such a strong word)....quit trying to speak for me!!!!!
But I will buy someone a beer if they pretend to be my friend!!!!:drink:
Oh man, you are gonna fit right in. Hopefully we can find someone from Texas who isn't such a crying whiner about everything. We can't take many more girlie Texas boys so hopefully you will balance out Jean Daisy Buttercup Smith.
Now that's funny....I don't care who ya are....that's funny right there!!!
I just wish we would stop judging any of these decisions as wrong or right
Never happen. People are people and we all have opinions.
This is America, land of rights and freedoms. You have the right to be offended by what other people think of you, and they have the right to think it.

Oh man... that post is funny on so many different levels, that you don't even know.
In the interest of trying to make sure that this becomes the longest thread ever, I'd just like to say that I think that the "Dara doubters" have missed the obvious and perfectly legal explanation for her performance:
She is a late bloomer with a high VO2 max.
(For you newbies, this has a long and PAINFUL history.)

Where is the Moose when you need him!!!!!!!
You are such an elitist...some of us here can't afford nice toys as we are stay at home, non-dads who spend all our time trying to bash Title IX, working mom's, Rush Limbaugh-Alan Combs and glamorous/fast people that we are actually really just jealous of because we never were good enough...so some of us in middle age (not me) get tattoo's trying to relive what little glory days...but because we are so miserable in our pathetic lives we come here and try and be "understood" but end up getting PM's from the moderators about being political..so we really have no friends here either...but we'll still got to nationals and taunt each other and in some cases win beer bets because we really hate our families we can't afford for not letting us train full time and teach TaeBo...
OK..to much coffee...time to grab my (wifes) push mower and clean up the 10' x 20' piece of lawn we haven't torn out yet so we can find the dog bomb's.
Is it taper time yet?
Too much coffee? Or not enough?
WOW - that's a low blow, this could get heated now.
Actually, I'd really like to hear He-Who-Can't-Be-Named's take on Ms. Torres and what she's done of late.

Not only is it obvious that Paul has had too much coffee...but also painfully clear that the man just has too much time on his hands. If he spent as much time in the pool than he does on the forum, he would (maybe) be able to beat Dara in the 50.
