I haven't thought this through so it is probably a hairbrained idea but...
Has anyone ever proposed a national Masters gathering that is not "championship oriented", e.g. where you aren't limited to three events if you can't make NQTs, perhaps with an associated open water event, and just more of an orientation toward gathering than high performance?
Re: naked relays. They actually did a study in the pre-lycra era and found(to no ones surprise) that female swimmers were faster without swimsuits, whereas male swimmers were faster with suits.
At least that what they told the guys to make them feel good about themselves!!!
I'm down with SpongeBob.....I'll probably get excommunicated for this, but I think that show's hilarious, I watch it all the time.
Nope...my favourite episode is the Jelly Fish Rave at SpongeBob's House...TFF!

There's too many good episodes of Spongebob to have just one favorite IMO....but the old episode where Squidward is running the art school at the community center....the imagination episode in the big box....the episode where the flying Dutchman is in a rut and shacks out at Spongebob's house (on his couch) for a few weeks...and finally the one where squidwird pretends that he doesn't like crabby patties and eats an entire garbage can full of garbage trying to get a crabby patty LOL!....The one where Spongebob loses his identity (i.e. name tag) and Patrick does that cannon ball into the gross muck in the dumpster...LOL!! So many funny episodes...its my son's favorite show...and one of mine too he he!

One of my favorite SpongeBob's is the "Idiot Box" episode. Have you seen it? SB and Patrick order a huge screen TV- they throw out the TV and keep the box! They have all kinds of adventures in it, and it drives Squidward nuts!! It
is hilarious
And this post is related to swimming because... when I watch SB I am... working on my hypoxic breathing- yea that's it- while the show's on I'm holding my breath, commercials I breathe, so I can pretend I'm under the sea with them- great breath control training- yea that's it!!! :thhbbb:
(Looks like I held my breath a little too long!) ;)
Sorry I didn't read this post Karen before I made my post....Don't tell Les or Carrie b/c they already let me have it for doing this same thing a couple of weeks ago LOL! The episode I referred to as the imagination episode in the big box is the same one you are reffering too....and yes it was one of my favorites also....but I have to admit that Kyra, SS, and Sam Perry have also mentioned some good ones too....Spongebob just rules!! And it doesn't matter if we went a bit astray here since this was a fun non-serious thread anyway....We seriously want to have this festival...don't get me wrong...I really hope we can have this festival....but we can have some fun too with a few digressions here and there....it still all relates back to the type of moon walk (i.e. bouncy tent as you say it Karen) we want to rent for the festival right? LOL!

NO NO NO!!! I WANT SPONGEBOB! OR I'M TAKING MY GOGGLES AND GOING HOME :thhbbb:

They have bouncy houses that look like tigers too....and this is totally related to swimming because the boucing with help us practice getting good pushes off the wall.
Good question. I assume free, but the article was nearly 40 yr. ago and I don't remember the details(but I expect I'd remember if it was backstroke.):groovy:

Did they test the males in Freestyle or Backstroke??? My guess is both men and women would be faster sans suit in backstroke...
I remember swimming Nationals in 2003, pregnant. After my 200 back a coach, heh-hem, headcoachKerryOBrien (said quickly under my breath!)- and some of my "teammates" had a great time teasing me about the twin towers they observed as I swam! I fear no suit, much drag- very ugly! :thhbbb:
