  I'm doing great and loving it:woot: Because of this event, I have become totally consistent with swimming 3 times a week, and making those swims a touch longer each week!! I know this has helped me become stronger and a very tiny bit faster!! I have been paying attention to form and working on steady and strong strokes. I have a lot more to work on, but getting to the pool 3 times a week gives me the venue and the time to do it. :groovy:

i wouldn't say that this event has changed my behavior, but i do like the excel spread sheet and graphs. i might be doing longer warm ups/downs to try and round off the days effort.

i am having fun with it... i too enjoy the spreadsheet... but... dang! the sheet is protected and there are some mods i would like to make to the sheet .... (i work with spreadsheets for a living, tweaking them is a habit:) ) the event will help me stick to my swimming goals for the year.
  • I'm enjoyng getting everything I can out of my swims. I tapered yesterday for a meet and did 3200. Today I raced 1000 yds so I made sure I did 2200 during warm up and cool down to give me a full 3 miles for the weekend. Alison

Are the cumulative miles/distance for Jan & Feb up yet? I continue my consistent 3 swims a week, and even throw in a Saturday once in a while ;)

 Great job everyone!! My tee shirt arrived today :woot: :woot: I shall wear it with pride. And with a consistent month of March I think I will reach my first milestone -- wel, 50 milestone that is -- and my first reward for myself. Thanks again Mary -- I'm loving this..
  • Good job, Nancy!! I am sick with a stomach bug so I missed my usual workout and I was not happy. I kept thinking "but no more miles" for today :( :( I'm looking forward to getting my cap and patch. Nancy, how does the short look? Maybe I'll have to get one of those one day, too. Alison
  • Congratulations to all of the "Go the Distance" participants - there are now nearly 300 of you ! I'm jazzed to see the participation increasing - almost on a daily basis - and I'm very glad to hear from so many of you that you are having fun! There were a few late entries that didn't make it into the February results. If yours was one of them - please rest assured that your mileage will count and you will see it posted in the March Results! There were two participants that entered (well before the deadline) but there was a slight mix-up of email addresses so I didn't get them until it was too late to put in the February results ... so I would like to mention them here. Dom (from AZ) swam a whopping 45.09 miles in February giving him a year to date total of 94.78 miles. I can't help but think that by now he's passed the "100 Miles" milestones - so congratulations to you Dom! Wooo hooo! And August Zupka is now up to 31.64 miles ...March may be the month for him to reach the "50 Miles" distance milestone - go for it August! By the way, the awards for the distance milestones achieved are color coded. So if you see a light blue swim cap or patch it is for those who have swum “50 miles”. The same awards are orange for “100 miles” and kelly green for “250 miles”. So now you can tell who at your pool has gone the distance! I’ll reveal the higher milestone colors as soon as someone achieves them … stay tuned .... it shouldn’t take long! Happy Swimming in March to everyone who is "going the distance"! Mary
  • Alison -- get the shirt. It is a simple design -- just like the logo on the site here, on a light grey shirt. Simple and nice, and it makes us a team:drink: Our pal Alison knows the "Go the Distance" logo intimately .... she is the one who designed this very cool event logo for us to use! I hope she realizes how much we appreciate her efforts ... and we will wear the logo proudly! Alison ... when you get your "50 Miles" cap, patch and certificate (it was mailed last week!) ... check out the border on the certificate - hope you like it. Mary
  • Congratulations to you Dom!!!! I hope you will celebrate and enjoy your accomplishment! Enjoy the good feeling as long as you can .... Mary
