Where do you swim? I joined the local county recreation facility (where I went 10 years ago) which is actually top notch. They host many high-level meets. www.charmeck.org/.../Aquatic Center Information.htm
  • I usually swim at the Pavilion Pool at the University of Washington. It's a six lane, 25 yard pool that was built in 1937. Not exactly where I'd like to swim a taper meet, but perfectly adequate for practice--as long as more than 30 people don't show up! The water temp is kept around 80 I'd say. Just about perfect. I also workout sometimes at Helene Madison pool, which is owned by the City of Seattle. It's bulkheaded at 25 yards with the shallow end on the other side used for things like water aerobics. An OK pool, but kept a little warm for my taste. It is, however, only a few blocks from my house. The attachment is of the UW pool.
  • I'm jealous of anyone that has starting blocks at their home pool ...
  • I waited over 5 years for this pool - so I could finally join and swim on a masters program. This is a pool built for high-school swimmers and water-polo players, but also has an age group team, masters, and other public offerings. The pictures were taken before the starting blocks were up, but they are awsome. I LOVE  this pool!!! www.nisd.net/.../newpool.htm

I swim at a Lifetime Fitness where the lap pool is open 24x7. Our pool set up (along with lots of others), looks like this (lap pool next to family fun pool with slides). We also have an outdoor pool w/designated lap lanes, but this is MN, we don't see it much. If I want starting blocks I'll have to head up to the LT in Plymouth. . . about 30 min away (mine is 10 min max).

When I'm at school I swim at Leggett Pool. When I'm home I swim at my local YMCA and if its the summer I swim at my neighborhood pool, The CP. All of these pools are SCM. The CP is my favorite pool to swim at.
  • There's a downside to the wall of windows at my pool - they shut it down at the slightest sign of a storm. It bugs me because the lap pool is so far from the windows - the kiddies in the fun pool would get zapped well before we would, giving us ample warning to get to safety. So why do they shut it down, sounds like the 'important pool' has a warning system?
  • My team swims at the U of MD facility. Here is a link to our website www.terrapinmasters.org. Swimmy

Yeah, the Aquanauts pool is pretty old. The only new facilities around here are either in Macon or over in Ft Valley. Too many politics involved in building a new one in this city!!!!:frustrated:
  • I swim here http://www.freedom-center.com/. It's a great pool affiliated with George Mason Univ (Manassas campus). It's only 6 years old but with brand new bulkheads and lane lines. The blocks are always up in the deep end. 50 M by 25 yards. I swim with the OCCS kids team in the deepest end and with the masters "between the bulkheads". Alison
