Which poster would you most like to race and in what event?

Who do you want to race? In what event? The race is on. I'm challenging Richjb to a 50 ***. I'll even challenge Terry to a 50 butterfrog.

Terry, Eleuthera sounds just heavenly. What a marvelous experience for all who participated. It is things like this that make so many memories for you and your people, as well as island folks. Roatan has something similar but more marine oriented. Anthony's Key Resort in Sandy Bay has the Institute of Marine Sciences located there, and they also provide camps for children and adults from scuba/snorkeling, to swimming with dolphins, marine life classes, horseback riding, and the list goes on. Conservation of reef life is first and foremost because the Hondurans are not privy to the importance of reef life. Typical over-fishing and trash throwing. The Marine Park is one of my charities for my Roatan to Utila swim. It is thrilling to watch people, with the guidance of people like yourself, engage them to try new things. Not to hijack this thread, your story just touched my heart. I would love for you to come to Roatan and enjoy our waters here. The closest island is Utila (18.6 miles), that is why I chose it. The others, Cayos Cachinos is 27, Guanaja is 12 but always has high seas and I do get seasick sometimes when swimming. So the distance has to be far unless we swim from maybe Half Moon Bay to West Bay which is only about 3 miles. Thank you for accepting the challenge, I am honored. Let's see if in the next year the logistics can be worked out. I don't come to the States very much. Donna

It is thrilling to watch people, with the guidance of people like yourself, try new things. Not to sound too Geek-like, but anything (clinics, this unique forum, friendly persuasion, good role modeling) that gets people off their butts, out exercising, and setting some goals (no matter how minor) is a good thing. The OW is even better. Then not as many little kids will drown. I'm tired of hearing about drowings off the Outer Banks every summer.

Caped One,I'd love to do a bike race, but I'm more of a sprint type,is that all right. Prom Dress is optional.:woot: I'm a distance junkie, but I'll do a sprint too I guess. No prom dress. No man-kini. I will be wearing my discovery team bike shorts.

I would like to race Wayne McCulley in a 25 breaststroke with each of us wearing a kilt.
  • i think the furthest south i will be traveling this coming year (2007) will be for colonies zones (dixies welcome too) Man, you're coming to our meet too?! Do you and Terry travel as a pack? Are you going to all those places around the world or staying in NY to do 3600 IMs? Was that IM continuous? How old are you? Do I recall 38? You may have to race Jeff Roddin in fly if you come down here. He's real fast. I also got a friend in NC who'll give you a good race in those distance frees at the Dixie Zones. (I was not speaking of Geek or Gull, since I haven't met them yet.) Or were you inviting the Dixies to come to Colonies? No fair! Last year, Karlyn Pipes-Nielsen crashed our meet and stole all the gold medals. I had to settle for a distant second in the 100 IM because of her ... Although we did chat in the hot tub and she showed me these new lightweight fins she'd designed.
  • Why not a prom dress.(Semi)seriously Wayne is amazing at streamlining, even in a kilt he can probably go 40 ft. on the pull-out. Wayne what do you do now on the pull-out,50 ft? I always loved to race Wayne, but in SCY I was always playing catch up.

does arm-wrestling count? i'd like to have a go with (s)he-man. Looks like we'd be pretty closely matched - in the pool that is! I'm weak on land though. It's all just for show. :joker: Last time I arm wrestled was in elementary school against the boys. The girls wouldn't arm wrestle. :wiggle: :wiggle:
