For the past month, after my 3500 yd swim workout I find an open lane and spend 15-30 min using my Aqua Jogger to speed down the lane at a 5:00 min 100 yd pace.
As a tool to rehab a running injury, there is probably nothing else like my Aqua Jogger. As a Triathlete, I suffered achillies tendonitis late last year that left me unable to run or bike. So I was stuck with swimming only over the winter months. I have now started to run on trails and my legs and achillies feel much stronger than I thought possible from doing pool work exclusivly.
I have seen some bad press on this site recently concerning the Aqua Jogger, so just my 2 cents, but if you need a good cross training tool, I highly reccomend the Aqua Jogger :D

The "aqua jogger" was my survival tool during injury periods: my running coach gave me some water workouts that left me wishing I could swim some 100 free sprints to take it easy. ;)
I don't use it now b/c I'm able to run as well as swim. I don't do the bike thing, so not in triathlon territory. Maybe "aquathlete" since I've done an aquathlon (swim/run)? :)
I took several water exercise and deep water running classes. I still occasionally use the water exercises when I am cooling down. All of the snide comments about water exercisers are unnecessary. We should admire those older people who are getting out and exercising. Swimmers don't have to be so snobby about other's abilities.
Hopefully all the chest beating and knuckle dragging in other threads will end soon.
Peace!
Swimmy :)

I use one to simulate swimming without actually having to exert any effort.
An AquaJogger is a foam flotation device that is worn around the waist and keeps you from sinking to the bottom. The now famous cover of the upcoming USMS Swimming Mag has an actual picture people wearing AquaJoggers. They seem to be doing aqua aerobics, but I use mine to simulate running in a non impacting manner.
I was trying out my new Hemmingway-esque form of noodlist criticism, brief and to the point. I'll now return to my rambling norm.
Vive le French-Canadian!
Barry- go easy on the Geek; we've all been concerned about the decline of his postings. I've even offered that he come and stay at our house (in the crawlspace, mind you), so that I could tune him up on a few small points (spelling & grammar) but he prefers to noodle his way along being the nature child.

Thats it? I expected so much more from you. Your fingers must be getting tired.
