What a great opportunity do do exercises. Every time an add comes on you can spend one to five minutes of excersise.
When I raced the marathon races and an add came on, 50 push ups, a few minutes later 50 stomach crunches, then 50 heel lifts, then 50 leg rises while laying on the floor either front or back. I think I will start this again.
As a matter of fact I did my first modified push ups already, but only 10.

I keep my recumbent bike right in front of the TV at home. On my non-swimming days, I do at least 30 minutes of bike -- while watching the Food Network.
hehehe I do similar stuff, but during yoga or pilates DVDs.
Every time there's just talking, usually between exercises, I do pushups or crunches. 30 min DVD workout, kind of easy by itself, turns into a major workout...
I'll have to start doing it during TV commercials, but I only watch one show weekly, so it won't be a big workout ;)
Just back from my Mexican jaunt of four months. I can not wait to get back to my TV adds and getting in shape for the world masters in July. Four months of hard swimming workouts and lots of TV adds to do my land exercises.

You are a very unique individual. If America was to practice the same,... we would see the end to our health care problems.
Then again, four months of fun in the sun was probably spent with a sombrero on, and many Coronas. :)
Go George.
On another list I once belonged, to someone told of their "commercialval" bike workouts. I have started to do that, and at the gym when on the stationary bike I sprint during each commercial -- they end up being around 2.5 to 2.75 minutes long. I love it -- it breaks up the bike time, and adds to some speed work and higher heart rate zone workouts.

At one time there used ot be a cops workout. Everytime a cop or crimminal said a certain word you did a certain exercise. It was a great half- hour work out.
