also if we wanted to conduct an ongoing scientific experiment
I'm sure we could recruit many volunteers for the study group and not so many as the control.

Bill- I was going to post a helpful tome full of such pithy phrases as 'for your first meet work on your distance-per-stroke'; 'be careful not to get too excited and false start'; 'be sure to do an adequate warmup'; 'don't go out too fast, save something for the end'- but considering the theme of the thread & knowing this bunch as well as I do now, they might misinterpret my intention...

We had a stud standard bred racehorse who had to bred before he raced or he could not keep his mind on racing. His name was Sharp Rupert.
This is the most fun I've had in Masters in a long time...!! Talk about sex b-4 a competition...? Now THIS is freedom of speach...!! And you know what...? Each I read brought a corresponding smile to my face...!

Most of the people I swim with don't have kids. Although now that you mention it, many of us do wear caps, so maybe that's a factor.

A good friend is reading over my shoudler. She just asked if this is an invitation. I told her that it was seeking advice. She just said that seems rather weird. In college, her husband ws aswimmer at Illinois State. She told me that before & after a meet they had to have sex. She is really mad at me now.
