Polar Vortex Workout Casualties?

My local Community Center is closing tomorrow for the first time in its history due to projected ACTUAL temperatures of -25F and wind chills near -50F. While I appreciate their concern for there staff and clients, it falls smack dab in the middle of my weekly workout retinue. Was just wondering how many others were dealt a blow by this 2019 Polar Vortex? Sleeping in? :bed:
  • Yep. Not as cold here but it is -1 with a (checks phone) -22 wind chill and suppose to get colder the next couple hours. So school and thus pool is closed today...
  • -23 this morning in Schaumburg,il my gym ,team pool, the other gym are closed! I plan to workout in the basement with the other stuff that I rarely use today.
  • Vortex hasn't hit here in SE New England yet. Late Wednesday night into late Thursday morning it'll settle in. Dan
  • Local gym opens at 10 am so I can go there today.
  • Supposed to be near a high of 50 today and sunny here -- above normal temps so far this winter and hardly any snow. Same here in Seattle. There is a chance of snow Sunday into Monday, but we haven't had any yet this winter and I seriously doubt we'll get any accumulation this time, either. The lowest official temp this month has been a balmy 31 F.
  • Supposed to be near a high of 50 today and sunny here -- above normal temps so far this winter and hardly any snow. Send it my way! I could go for a school closure, but I hate it when they close the pool!
  • Had practice this morning, at around 6 Coach looked at his phone and said, "huh, they closed school for today!" So one of my training buddies starting singing Judas Priest: "Breaking the law/breaking the law!"
  • The re-opened our Community Center this morning... ONLY -22F with light winds. High School was still closed. We get to a balmy 8F by this evening, but of course that means more snow!
  • Not here in subtropics where it freezes for 2 hours a week. I am a casualty however, with eight stitches in my leg waiting to be removed so I can swim at least once a week again.
  • I've noticed that the forums are much more active than usual this week. Think it's housebound swimmers just trying to stay connected? :)
