I successfully repaired a rip in my Speedo Fastskin and am wondering if I would be DQ'd at a meet? There's an 8" strip of industrial seam tape (just like on the inside of the suit) under the arm going vertically. Thanks in advance.
At Nationals this past weekend, I asked an official who asked another who asked another and the verdict was yes, I'd be DQd just for what was on the inside. You couldn't even see it from the outside so I should've kept my mouth shut!

Oops, ha ha, that's hard to enforce unless it's obvious.
At Indy Nationals, I purchased a "tech suit" that has a brief liner built into the suit. Will this be legal?
A lot of the new tech suits have liners in them. They are OK as far as I have been able to tell.
If a liner is ok --- then why not a "speedo brief" swim suit under a jammer?
I would guess the primary reason is that FINA tests and approves individual suits. They do not test combinations of suits, thus don't allow a combination of suits to be worn.

I think the spirit of the original rule was that during the "supersuit" years, people were wearing LZR Racer bodysuits (better compression properties) over BlueSeventy or Jaked bodysuits (better flotation capabilities). So they just blanket nipped the double suit thing in the bud when they banned supersuits.
