What should I bring to a meet?

I'm competing in my first swim meet in 30+ years. I have three events spaced evenly through the day. (50 fly, 100 free & 500 free in that order). I'm trying to figure out what to bring tomorrow other than a towel, suit and goggles. It should be hot mid-day and cool at the start and end of the day. Any suggestions for equipment, nutrition or anything else?
  • A chair , if no stands are around. a sports drink or 2 , some food that will digest well that you have tried before. something to read if you are not a talker with others, sun screen if needed,a hat,a light jacket , a willingness to have fun. Good luck!
  • I think Orca's got it covered. One of those folding camp chairs is a must have for swim meets as far as I'm concerned. I'd err on the side of bringing more warm clothes than you think you'll need.
  • more than one towel more than one shirt extra pair of goggles & extra cap just in case of disaster (& extra suit for that matter) foods that you already know wont weigh your tummy down sports drinks &/or lots of cold water but most important: a good adventurous attitude & the excitement that you are about to do something amazing! have fun- you'll have butterflies but the feeling when you're done is something amazing
  • How did you like the meet?
  • Was it the Carlsbad meet on June 5th? If so I hope you had a parka and Ugg boots!
  • Everything mentioned above, adding a second folding chair, but a recliner, and something that will provide shade such as a beach umbrella or EZ up. Keep your drinks in a small ice chest.
